Melbourne, Australia to Tokyo is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Melbourne to Tokyo due to the time zone difference. While traveling from Melbourne, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Tokyo, ranging from highs of 19°C to lows of 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Sun) early enough to take a train to Kanazawa.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Take a break from Kyoto with a short trip to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, about 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, don't miss a visit to Eikando Zenrinji Temple, steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, and take a stroll through Gion.

Getting from Kanazawa to Kyoto by train takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. In November in Kyoto, expect temperatures between 19°C during the day and 10°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Thu) to allow time to take a train to Hiroshima.

Formed by the gradual merging of several old fishing villages, today the island town of Motobu-cho boasts paradisal beaches of white sand, clear waters, and a rich array of wildlife.
On the 1st (Sun), discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, then observe the fascinating underwater world at Okichan Theater, and then get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. On the 2nd (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: make a trip to Kouri Ohashi, then kick back and relax at Akabaka Beach, and then see the vivid underwater world at Sesoko Labyrinth.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Hiroshima to Motobu-cho in 7 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, flight, and bus; or do a combination of train and ferry. Traveling from Hiroshima in November, expect Motobu-cho to be somewhat warmer, temps between 28°C and 20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Mon) so you can travel to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
On the 3rd (Tue), find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, take in panoramic vistas at Maesedake Observation Site, then contemplate the waterfront views at Kabira Bay, and finally get engrossed in the history at Ishigaki Yaima Village. Here are some ideas for day two: enjoy the sand and surf at Yonehara Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Akashi Beach, and then visit a coastal fixture at Cape Hirakubozaki.

Traveling by combination of bus and flight from Motobu-cho to Ishigaki takes 5.5 hours. Traveling from Motobu-cho in December, expect a bit warmer with lows of 20°C in Ishigaki. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
