Ishigaki

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
On the 17th (Mon), enjoy the sand and surf at Yonehara Beach, head outdoors with Cape Hirakubozaki, and then take in panoramic vistas at Tamatorizaki Observatory. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 18th (Tue): get outside with Outdoor Activities, then walk around Banna Park, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Kondoi Beach.

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.

You can do a combination of flight and train from Miyakojima to Nachikatsura-cho in 7 hours. In June, Nachikatsura-cho is little chillier than Miyakojima - with highs of 29°C and lows of 25°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Takayama.
