Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Get outdoors at Kabira Bay and Kayaking & Canoeing. There's still lots to do: glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, take in panoramic vistas at Maesedake Observation Site, cruise along Nagurao Bridge, and enjoy the sea views from Cape Hirakubozaki.

Get outdoors at Nara Park and Yase Momiji no Komichi. Step out of Kyoto to go to Dotombori and see Dotombori District, which is approximately 1h 10 min away. The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, take a stroll through Gion, and don't miss a visit to Nijo Castle.
