Start off your visit on the 5th (Mon): admire the natural beauty at Koko-en, then explore the historical opulence of Himeji Castle, and then take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Takamikura.

You can take a train from Hiroshima to Himeji in 1.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of bus and train. April in Himeji sees daily highs of 20°C and lows of 14°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Mon) to allow time to take a train to Kyoto.
