Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Sensō-ji and Tokyo National Museum. Do your shopping at Minato Mirai 21 and Ginza. There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Odaiba, make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine, examine the collection at Samurai Museum, and shop like a local with Takeshita Street.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to Tokyo is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. Traveling from Abu Dhabi to Tokyo, you'll lose 5 hours due to the time zone difference. The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Eikando Zenrinji Temple. Get a sense of the local culture at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Kinkaku-ji. Step out of Kyoto to go to Osaka and see Dotonbori, which is approximately 1h 10 min away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Tofuku-ji Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Ryoanji Temple, step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, and take a stroll through Gion.

Take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In August in Kyoto, expect temperatures between 39°C during the day and 29°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Thu) so you can travel to Onna-son.

Onna-son

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
On the 16th (Fri), don't miss a visit to Nakijin Castle Ruins, stroll through Cape Manzamo, and then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Here are some ideas for day two: appreciate the extensive heritage of Okinawa Peace Memorial Park, step into the grandiose world of Nakagusuku Castle Ruins, then steep yourself in history at Katsuren Castle Ruins, and finally look for gifts at Onna Station Nakayukui Market.

You'll discover tucked-away gems like Sunayama Beach and Yabiji. Escape the urban bustle at Aragusuku Beach and Scuba & Snorkeling.
