Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
On the 19th (Fri), admire the landmark architecture of Tokyo Tower, don't miss a visit to Shibuya Crossing, then don't miss a visit to Meiji Jingu Shrine, then make a trip to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sensō-ji and then take a stroll through Odaiba.

Brisbane, Australia to Tokyo is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. Traveling from Brisbane to Tokyo, you'll gain 1 hour due to the time zone difference. When traveling from Brisbane in July, plan for somewhat warmer days and much warmer nights in Tokyo: temperatures range from 36°C by day to 27°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel to Shari-cho.

Tourism in Shari-cho, a small town situated on Hokkaido's eastern tip, flourishes mainly because of its immediate proximity to the Shiretoko World Heritage Site.
On the 21st (Sun), walk around Pereke River Shore Park, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Shiretoko Beach, then explore the activities along Shiretoko Goko Lake, and finally get outside with Road to Heaven.

Do a combination of flight and taxi from Tokyo to Shari-cho in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of train, bus, and car. Traveling from Tokyo in July, expect Shari-cho to be little chillier, temps between 25°C and 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) early enough to travel to Kyoto.

Getting from Shari-cho to Kyoto by combination of taxi and flight takes about 7.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or do a combination of car and ferry. Traveling from Shari-cho in July, things will get somewhat warmer in Kyoto: highs are around 37°C and lows about 28°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Tue) so you can catch the train to Hiroshima.

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Fri): tour the pleasant surroundings at Sunayama Beach, take in the views from Irabu Bridge, then take in the views from Kurima Bridge, and finally kick back and relax at Yonaha Maehama Beach. You can do a combination of train and flight from Hiroshima to Miyakojima in 4.5 hours. Another option is to fly. In July in Miyakojima, expect temperatures between 37°C during the day and 31°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) early enough to ride a ferry to Iriomote-jima.
