Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Kids will enjoy Canal Grande and Ponte di Rialto. Venture out of the city with trips to Verona (Arena di Verona & Museo di Castelvecchio). There's lots more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza San Marco, examine the collection at Museo Ebraico di Venezia, admire the striking features of Doge's Palace, and enjoy breathtaking views from St Mark's Campanile.

Austin, USA to Venice is an approximately 16-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference moving from Central Standard Time to Central European Time is 7 hours. In June, Venice is a bit cooler than Austin - with highs of 81°F and lows of 63°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Mon) early enough to take a train to Milan.

In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Tue): admire the landmark architecture of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Milano, and then step into the grandiose world of Castello Sforzesco.

You can take a train from Venice to Milan in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and flight. In June, daytime highs in Milan are 83°F, while nighttime lows are 64°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Tue) so you can take a train to Florence.

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Bring the kids along to Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and The Boboli Gardens. Take a break from Florence with a short trip to Leaning Tower of Pisa in Pisa, about 1h 10 min away. There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Gallerie Degli Uffizi, examine the collection at Academy Of Florence Art Gallery, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza del Duomo, and snap pictures at Ponte Vecchio.

On the 13th (Sat), enjoy the sand and surf at Fornillo, then enjoy breathtaking views from Torre di Grado, then kick back and relax at Lido Capo di Conca, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Villa Rufolo. Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Attractions like Colosseum and Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo make great kid-friendly stops. There's much more to do: make a trip to Trevi Fountain, explore the ancient world of Catacombe di San Callisto, explore the world behind art at Galleria Borghese, and pause for some serene contemplation at Pantheon.

You can do a combination of subway and train from Ravello to Rome in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Ravello in June, expect a bit cooler with lows of 65°F in Rome. On the 18th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
