Get some historical perspective at Colosseum and St. Peter's Basilica. Step off the beaten path and head to Duomo di Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio. There's lots more to do: delve into the distant past at Palatine Hill, steep yourself in history at Torre San Giovani, make a trip to Trevi Fountain, and explore the galleries of Vatican Museums.
