Florence

Birthplace of the Italian Renaissance

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.

Change things up with these side-trips from Florence: Castello di Monteriggioni (in Monteriggioni), Siena (Torre del Mangia, Wine Tours & Tastings, &more) and Eremo Le Celle (in Cortona). There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Gallerie Degli Uffizi, admire the striking features of Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, pause for some photo ops at Perseus Statue, and steep yourself in history at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.

For traveler tips, ratings, reviews, and more tourist information, use the Florence trip itinerary planner.
