Heart of Italian Cuisine

A city famous for its cuisine, Bologna is the seat of the oldest university in the world, founded in 1088.
Venture out of the city with trips to Modena (Acetaia Villa San Donnino & Acetaia Giuseppe Giusti) and Ferrara (Palazzo Schifanoia (Palazzo della Gioia) & Castello Estense). There's lots more to do: enjoy breathtaking views from Le Due Torri Torre degli Asinell, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chiesa di Santa Maria della Vita, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica - Santuario di Santo Stefano, and contemplate the long history of Piazza Maggiore.

To find photos, ratings, and tourist information, read our Bologna trip maker.

Indianapolis, USA to Bologna is an approximately 15-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 6 hours traveling from Indianapolis to Bologna. Expect a daytime high around 67°F in April, and nighttime lows around 48°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Tue) early enough to drive to Ravenna.
