Trieste is a charming old town with a quiet atmosphere often compared to eastern European cities.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Grotta Gigante, Museo Sveviano, Museo d’Antichita “J.J. Winckelmann”, and other attractions. Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Get a sense of the local culture at Doge's Palace and Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Piazza San Marco and Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo (San Zanipolo) will appeal to history buffs. Omegna is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100km northeast of Turin and about 13km southwest of Verbania at the northernmost point of Lago d’Orta and traversed by the Nigoglia, the lake's sole outflow.HistoryThe presence of ancient settlement in the area has been proved by excavations held in the frazione of Cireggio, archaeological findings dating from the late Bronze and Iron Ages.
