Akureyri

Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Sun): trot along with a tour on horseback and then get engrossed in the history at The Old Farmhouse Laufas. Here are some ideas for day two: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Akureyrarkirkja, take in nature's colorful creations at Arctic Botanical Gardens (Lystigardurinn), and then look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas.
