Hexham is a market town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, south of the River Tyne, and was the administrative centre for the Tynedale district from 1974 to 2009. Change things up with these side-trips from Hexham: Alpacaly Ever After (in Portinscale), Windermere (Treetop Trek, Climbing Tours, & more) and The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction (in Bowness-on-Windermere). Spend the 28th (Sat) exploring nature at Lake District National Park Guided Walks. The adventure continues: identify plant and animal life at Falconry Days, take in the dramatic scenery at Aira Force Waterfall, hike along Catbells Lakeland Walk, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Old Man of Coniston.

For other places to visit, traveler tips, more things to do, and more tourist information, refer to the Hexham day trip planning site .

If you are flying in from Denmark, the closest major airports are Newcastle Airport, Durham Tees Valley Airport and Leeds Bradford Airport. September in Hexham sees daily highs of 19°C and lows of 10°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 30th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
