The former capital of Guatemala and a World Heritage Site, Antigua retains its colonial charm and remains one of the most visited destinations in the country.
Explore Antigua's surroundings by going to Guatemala City (Catedral Metropolitana, Palacio Nacional, &more). There's lots more to do: get impressive views of Volcán Pacaya, explore the world behind art at Casa Santo Domingo Museums, see the interesting displays at ChocoMuseo, and pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia de La Merced.
