On the 2nd (Thu), explore the striking landscape at Fuentes Georginas and then explore the activities along Laguna Chicabal. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: don't miss a visit to Central Plaza, contemplate the geological forces at Santa Maria Volcano, and then see the interesting displays at Lxkik Maya Museum.

Traveling by car from Quetzaltenango to Santiago Atitlan takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and ferry. Traveling from Quetzaltenango in January, expect a bit warmer with lows of 13°C in Santiago Atitlan. On the 5th (Sun), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Flores.

Go for a jaunt from Flores to Tikal National Park to see Tikal about 1h 15 min away. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) to allow enough time to take a shuttle to Lanquin.
