Situated on the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York has witnessed an abundance of major political events throughout its two millennia of existence.
Popular historic sites such as York City Walls and York City Church are in your itinerary. Let the collections at National Railway Museum and York Castle Museum capture your imagination. When in York, make a side trip to see The National Birds of Prey Centre in Helmsley, approximately 50 minutes away. Kick off your visit on the 12th (Sat): admire the landmark architecture of Bath Abbey and then take an in-depth tour of The Roman Baths. Keep things going the next day: look for all kinds of wild species at Hawk Conservancy Trust and then delve into the distant past at Stonehenge.

Stratford-upon-Avon is a market town and civil parish in Warwickshire, England, on the River Avon, 101mi north west of London, 22mi south east of Birmingham, and 8mi south west of Warwick. Get some historical perspective at Warwick Castle and Old Court House. Take a break from the city and head to Cotswold Falconry Centre and Cotswold Farm Park. Change things up with a short trip to Cotswolds Distillery in Stourton (about 38 minutes away). There's still lots to do: look for all kinds of wild species at S&D Falconry, take in nature's colorful creations at Hidcote Manor Garden, take in panoramic vistas at Broadway Tower, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Stratford Town Walk.
