Built on a desolate swamp as a showcase capital of Imperial Russia, this grand city has certainly lived up to the expectations of its founder, Tsar Peter the Great.
Appreciate the collections at The State Hermitage Museum and Russian Museum. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Nevsky Prospekt and MARS Center. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Saint Isaac's Cathedral, shop like a local with City Art Gallery, steep yourself in history at Palace Square (Dvortsovaya Ploshchad), and pause for some serene contemplation at Savior on the Spilled Blood.

Seoul, South Korea to St. Petersburg is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference moving from Korea Standard Time (KST) to Moscow Standard Time (MSK) is minus 6 hours. Getting from St. Petersburg to Krakow by flight takes about 7.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight and train; or drive. You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
