You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Fri): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), examine the collection at House of Terror Museum, then don't miss a visit to Heroes' Square, then steep yourself in history at Matthias Church, and finally steep yourself in history at Fisherman's Bastion. Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
On the 7th (Thu), stop by Old Town and then steep yourself in history at Fort Lovrijenac.
