Carnac is a commune beside the Gulf of Morbihan on the south coast of Brittany in the Morbihan department in north-western France. Its inhabitants are called Carnacois in French. Attractions like Carnac stones and Musee de Prehistoire make great kid-friendly stops. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to L' Aven Parc and Dolmens de Mane Kerioned. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Carnac: Quimper (Le Jardin de la Retraite & Musee de la Faience de Quimper), Nevez (Village de Kercanic & Plage de Tahiti) and Concarneau (Ville Close de Concarneau & Chateau de Keriolet). There's still lots to do: have some family-friendly fun at Le P'tit Delire, take in the dramatic natural features at Geant du Manio, pause for some serene contemplation at Chapelle Saint-Colomban, and kick back and relax at La Grande Plage.
