Once the feared base of pirates and heavily fortified against Norman attacks, today's coastal Saint-Malo is one of the top tourist draws.
Get out of town with these interesting Saint-Malo side-trips: Plevenon (Cap Fréhel & Fort La Latte) and Rennes (Centre Historique de Rennes & Parc du Thabor). There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Les Remparts de Saint-Malo, enjoy the sand and surf at Plage du Sillon, get to know the fascinating history of Promenade du Clair de Lune, and get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Grand Aquarium.

Keep things going the next day: visit a coastal fixture at Ploumanac'h LIghthouse, head outdoors with Ile Renote, then get engrossed in the history at Musee des Forteresses Volantes, then steep yourself in history at Abbaye de Beauport, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedrale Saint-Tugdual.

Plogoff is a commune in the Finistère department of Brittany in north-western France.It contains three small ports suitable for small vessels: Pors-Loubous, Feunten-Aod and Bestrée. On the 1st (Tue), take some stellar pictures from Pointe de Brezellec, kick back and relax at Plage de la Baie des Trepasses, don't miss a visit to Pointe du Van, then get outside with Baie des Trepasses, and finally make a trip to Pointe du Raz.

Founded over 2,000 years ago, Vannes is a vacation harbor town with beaches, shopping, museums, and gardens, as well as interesting medieval city gates and timber-framed houses scattered throughout its Old Town.
Explore Vannes' surroundings by going to Carnac stones (in Carnac), Rochefort en Terre (Chateau de Rochefort-en-Terre & Rochefort-en-terre) and Cote Sauvage (in Quiberon). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Centre Historique de Vannes, contemplate the long history of Old City Walls of Vannes, take in the waterfront at Port De St Goustan, and deepen your understanding at Univers du Poete Ferrailleur.

You can drive from Concarneau to Vannes in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. While traveling from Concarneau, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Vannes, ranging from highs of 27°C to lows of 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
