The medieval town of Bruges centers around a canal, and the architecture of its historical district has made it a World Heritage Site.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Church of Our Lady Bruges and Atlantic Wall Museum. Appreciate the collections at Torture Museum Oude Steen and Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917. Venture out of the city with trips to Ghent (St Michael's Bridge & Graslei and Korenlei), Heilig-Hartkerk (in Ostend) and Ieper (Ypres) (Essex Farm Cemetery, Hooge Crater museum, & more). Located along the Upper Meuse Valley, the city of Dinant features colorful buildings framing its famous church and a clifftop citadel in the background.
Get some cultural insight at Chateau de Bouillon and Chateau de Chimay. Step out of the city life by going to La Grotte de Han and Lake Neufchateau. Venture out of the city with trips to Gallo-romeinse villa des Bruyeres (in Treignes), Old Town of Durbuy (in Durbuy) and Abbaye d'Orval (in Florenvill). Although decidedly industrial on the outskirts, Liege also boasts impressive architecture.
Bastogne War Museum and 101 Airborne Museum Le Mess - Bastogne will appeal to museum buffs. Visiting Forestia and Circuit de Spa will get you outdoors. Change things up with these side-trips from Liege: Citadelle (Citadel) (in Namur) and Mardasson Memorial (in Bastogne).
