Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Relax by the water at Strandbad Seeon and Strandbad St. Alban. Bring the kids along to Deutsches Museum and Strandbad Ubersee. When in Munich, make a side trip to see Kirche St. Johann Baptist und Heilig Kreuz in Rosenheim, approximately 1 hour away. There's much more to do: explore the activities along English Garden, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Michael's Church, indulge your thirst for a good beer at Augustiner Brauerei, and contemplate the long history of Nymphenburg Palace.
