Surrounded by mountain ranges and boasting a well-preserved city center, Salzburg melds culture and history.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Mirabell Palace and Museum der Moderne Mönchsberg. Popular historic sites such as Hellbrunn Castle (Schloss Hellbrun) and Salzburg Cathedral (Dom) are in your itinerary. When in Salzburg, make a side trip to see Gollinger Wasserfall in Golling an der Salzach, approximately 34 minutes away. There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Fortress Hohensalzburg, stroll the grounds of Petersfriedhof, see the interesting displays at Haus der Natur, and browse the exhibits of Mozart-Wohnhaus.

Toronto, Canada to Salzburg is an approximately 17-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 6 hours traveling from Toronto to Salzburg. Traveling from Toronto in June, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit cooler in Salzburg, with lows of 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Thu) so you can go by car to Zell am See.

Despite its small size, Zell am See is a well-visited tourist destination known mostly as a ski resort town, and it serves as an important transportation hub for the region.
Kick off your visit on the 29th (Thu): take a memorable drive along Grossglockner High Alpine Road and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Kitzsteinhorn. On your second day here, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Schmittenhohe, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Zell, and then look for gifts at Charisma Am Stadtplatz.

Getting from Salzburg to Zell am See by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 26°C, and evening lows to 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sat) so you can drive to Innsbruck.

Nestled in a valley between snowcapped peaks, Innsbruck evokes visions of a winter wonderland.
Visiting Rosshutte and Bergisel Ski Jump will get you outdoors. Step off the beaten path and head to Altstadt von Innsbruck and Stubaier Gletscher. There's still lots to do: browse the exhibits of Ambras Castle, look for gifts at Cafe Cardinal, Gebrüder Murauer GmbH, admire the landmark architecture of Dom St. Jacob, and steep yourself in history at Golden Roof.

Drive from Zell am See to Innsbruck in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. In July, daytime highs in Innsbruck are 30°C, while nighttime lows are 15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Mon) early enough to travel to Vienna.

The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Step off the beaten path and head to Ringstrasse and Sisi Museum. Belvedere Palace and Historic Center of Vienna will appeal to history buffs. There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at Kunsthistorisches Museum, admire the striking features of St. Stephen's Cathedral, tour the pleasant surroundings at Schönbrunn Palace, and examine the collection at MuseumsQuartier.
