Puerto Madero and Parque 3 de Febrero are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Delta El Tigre and Parque Nacional Ciervo de los Pantanos. Take a break from Buenos Aires with a short trip to Peru Beach in Acassuso, about 36 minutes away. Take a break from the city and head to Perito Moreno Glacier and Horseback Riding Tours. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Enjoy! and Santa Teresita del Nino Jesus. Often called the "End of the World" because of its position on the southernmost tip of South America, the expanding city of Ushuaia serves as both a busy commercial port and attractive tourist hub.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Lago Roca and Playa Larga. Escape the urban bustle at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Isla Bridges. There's lots more to do: grab your bike and head to Ushuaia Bay, examine the collection at Museo Maritimo y del Presidio de Ushuaia, browse the different shops at Foto Center, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia de la Merced.

Getting from El Calafate to Ushuaia by flight takes about 2 hours. Other options: do a combination of car and ferry; or take a bus. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from El Calafate in December: high temperatures in Ushuaia hover around 13°C and lows are around 5°C. On the 30th (Mon), you'll have the morning to explore before heading back home.
