Yellow Rose of Texas

Known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas," Amarillo was once a series of ranches.
Explore Amarillo's surroundings by going to Canyon (Lighthouse Trail & Palo Duro Canyon State Park), Russell's Truck and Travel Center (in Glenrio) and Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop (in Adrian). The adventure continues: get a taste of life in the country at Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West, examine the collection at Jack Sisemore Traveland RV Museum, take in the exciting artwork at American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum, and get engrossed in the history at National Ranching Heritage Center.

Plan my Amarillo trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

If you are flying in from Russia, the closest major aiports are Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport and Cannon Air Force Base. In July, plan for daily highs up to 39°C, and evening lows to 22°C.
