Saranda, Albania

A popular summer destination for its inexpensive accommodation and stony Mediterranean beaches, Saranda has become a favorite of both Albanian and foreign travelers.
Change things up with these side-trips from Saranda: Blue Eye (in Vlore) and Gjirokaster (in Gjirokaster). Perched on the edge of a fjord-like bay rimmed by rugged mountains, Kotor grew around a medieval settlement purposely built like a maze.
