Situated on the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York has witnessed an abundance of major political events throughout its two millennia of existence.
Step off the beaten path and head to Yorkshire Air Museum and York Cold War Bunker. Your inner history buff will appreciate Treasurer's House and Beverley Minster.
