Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.
Explore Taipei's surroundings by going to Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) (in Ruifang) and YehLiu Geopark (in Wanli). Getting from Taipei to Nantou by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of train and bus; or take a bus. In March, daily temperatures in Nantou can reach 25°C, while at night they dip to 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Beigang.

You can drive from Beigang to Kaohsiung in 2 hours. Traveling from Beigang in March, expect Kaohsiung to be a bit warmer, temps between 31°C and 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 14th (Sun) to allow time for the flight back home.
