The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.
Step out of the city life by going to Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen and Rhine Falls. Get a sense of the local culture at Museum of Art (Kunsthaus Zurich) and Old Town. Take a break from Zurich with a short trip to Gewerbemuseum Winterthur in Winterthur, about 30 minutes away. There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Bahnhofstrasse, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Grossmunster, admire the striking features of Fraumünster Church, and get a taste of the local shopping with ARTBOX.GALLERY.

In north-central Switzerland, Lucerne represents a small city boasting a well-preserved old town.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Sun): get a taste of the local shopping with Altstadt Luzern, then take a leisurely stroll along Nadelwehr, and then identify plant and animal life at Biosphaere Entlebuch. On the 12th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Jesuitenkirche, then steep yourself in history at Museggmauer, and then look and learn at Verkehrshaus der Schweiz.

You can drive from Zurich to Lucerne in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train. Expect a daytime high around 28°C in August, and nighttime lows around 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Mon) early enough to drive to Interlaken.
