Gateway to Shikoku

A modern city and a major transport hub facing Seto Inland Sea, Takamatsu offers a bustling city lifestyle contrasted with carefully manicured, tranquil green areas at the foot of the mountains and the lava plateau.
Get out of town with these interesting Takamatsu side-trips: Zentsu-ji Temple (in Zentsuji), Marugame Castle (in Marugame) and Kotohira-cho (Kotohira-gu Shrine Omoteshoin & Kotohira-gu). Regina, Canada to Takamatsu is an approximately 24-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 15 hours traveling from Regina to Takamatsu. While traveling from Regina, expect somewhat warmer days and warmer nights in Takamatsu, ranging from highs of 30°C to lows of 22°C. When traveling from Kochi in September, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Tokushima: temperatures range from 28°C by day to 26°C at night. On the 3rd (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
