Step out of the city life by going to River Rafting & Tubing and San Francisco Glacier. You'll find plenty of places to visit near San Jose de Maipo: Hacienda Picarquin (in Rancagua), Museo de la Gran Mineria de Cobre (in Machali) and Vina El Principal (in Pirque). Santiago to San Jose de Maipo is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of subway and bus; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 5°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Wed) so you can go by car to Santiago.
