Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
On the 12th (Thu), take in the dramatic natural features at Passeggiata di Gianicolo and then take a stroll through Citta del Vaticano. Keep things going the next day: delve into the distant past at Colosseum, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Clement Basilica, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Sabbianera Super Beach.
