Pink City

Known as the "Pink City" because of the color of the stone used for many of its notable structures, Jaipur draws visitors with its chaotic street life and a slew of colorful bazaars selling everything from handmade pottery to tie-dye scarves.
Spend the 23rd (Thu) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's much more to do: step into the grandiose world of Amber Palace, look and learn at Jantar Mantar - Jaipur, get engrossed in the history at City Palace of Jaipur, and admire the landmark architecture of Hawa Mahal - Palace of Wind.

Traveling from Kolkata (Calcutta) in December, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit cooler in Jaipur, with lows of 11°C. The blue-walled buildings in the old quarter of Jodhpur have a calming, quaint aesthetic when viewed from up high, but down on the streets the city bustles with a lively atmosphere that belies its toy-town color.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Sun): get to know the resident critters at Machia Biological Park, whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, then indulge your taste buds at Food & Drink, then don't miss a visit to Ghanta Ghar, and finally look for gifts at Mohanlal Verhomal Spices (MV SPICES). On the next day, walk around Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, then pause for some photo ops at Jaswant Thada, and then indulge in some personalized pampering at Mantrayana Studio.
