You can do a combination of flight and bus from Cusco to Puno in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Expect a bit cooler evenings in Puno when traveling from Cusco in January, with lows around 5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Arequipa.
