Rich in architectural sights and natural attractions, the city of Pelotas is the third-largest in the state, and enjoys an attractive position by the Lagoa dos Patos.
Let the collections at Helena Assumpcao Historical Museum and Museu Historico da Cidade capture your imagination. Catedral Metropolitana de Sao Francisco de Paula and Cathedral of St. Peter are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Pelotas' surroundings by going to Rio Grande (Ocean Museum Prof. Eliezer de Carvalho Rios, Igreja Nossa Senhora do Carmo, & more), Cassino (Praia do Cassino & Praia Molhes da Barra) and Igreja Matriz de Sao Jose do Norte (in Sao Jose Do Norte). Florianopolis to Pelotas is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Florianopolis in June, things will get a bit cooler in Pelotas: highs are around 20°C and lows about 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Montevideo.

With a rich cultural scene and plenty of developed beaches, Montevideo vacations appeal to a growing number of visitors from around the world.
Catedral de Montevideo and Pizzorno Family Estates are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Pittamiglio"s Castle and Iglesia de las Carmelitas for their historical value. Getting from Pelotas to Montevideo by car takes about 7.5 hours. Other options: fly. Traveling from Pelotas in June, Montevideo is little chillier at night with lows of 7°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Fri) early enough to catcht the bus to Punta del Este.
