Explore Nurmes' surroundings by going to Kuopio (St. Nikolaos Cathedral, Kulttuurihistoriallinen Museo, &more), Tiilikkajarven Kansallispuisto (in Rautavaara) and Tahko Farmi (in Tahkovuori). There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Nurmes Church.
