Nagoya

— 13 nights
Known nationally as an industrial heartland, Nagoya boasts a far more cosmopolitan and cultural core than its reputation would lead you to believe.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Nagoya: Ise (Ise Shrine Geku, Okage Yokocho, &more), Inuyama (Mie Prefectural Office, The Museum Meijimura, &more) and Hikone Castle (in Hikone). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Nagoya Castle, examine the collection at SCMAGLEV and Railway Park, take in nature's colorful creations at Nabana no Sato, and get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium.

To see reviews, where to stay, photos, and other tourist information, you can read our Nagoya trip planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Chubu Centrair International Airport, Mount Fuji Shizuoka Airport and Osaka International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 13°C in March, and nighttime lows around 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
