Quebec's economic and cultural capital, Montreal serves as the province's major point of entry, known for its rich history and high standard of living.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cathedral of Marie-Reine-du-Monde and Lieu Historique National du Canal-de-Lachine. Popular historic sites such as Place Jacques-Cartier and St. Patrick's Basilica are in your itinerary. Take a break from Montreal with a short trip to Nature Centre (Le Centre de la nature) in Laval, about 38 minutes away. The adventure continues: let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour, grab your bike and head to Old Port of Montreal, pause for some serene contemplation at Notre Dame de la Trinite, and learn the secrets of beer at a beer tour and tasting.
