Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum and Truman Little White House will appeal to museum buffs. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Fort Zachary Taylor and Key West Cemetery. There's much more to do: fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Mary Star of the Sea, tour the pleasant surroundings at Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, and go for a walk through West Martello Tower.

Big Pine Key

Big Pine Key is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Monroe County, Florida, United States, on an island of the same name in the Florida Keys. Start off your visit on the 1st (Mon): stroll through National Key Deer Refuge, shop like a local with Artists in Paradise Gallery, and then enjoy the sea views from American Shoal Lighthouse. Keep things going the next day: see some colorful creatures with Looe Key Dive Center and then kick back and relax at Bahia Honda State Park.
