The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, boasts an impressive medieval quarter--one of the continent's largest and a World Heritage Site with almost 2,000 historical buildings.
Step out of the city life by going to Hill of Three Crosses and PuckoriU Atodanga. Go for a jaunt from Vilnius to Trakai to see Trakai Island Castle Museum about 36 minutes away. The adventure continues: take an in-depth tour of Gediminas Castle Tower, examine the collection at KGB Museum (Genocido Auku Muziejus), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gate of Dawn, and pause for some photo ops at Cathedral (Arkikatedra Bazilika).
