You've added Fukui Minamiaoyama 291, The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace (Edo Castle Ruin), Meiji Jingu Shrine, and other attractions to your itinerary. The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Escape the urban bustle at Kamogawa River and Yase Momiji no Komichi. Explore hidden gems such as Walking tours and Mt. Kurama. Step out of Kyoto with an excursion to Asahiyaki in Uji--about 42 minutes away. There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kinkaku-ji, step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, see the interesting displays at Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum, and wander the streets of Gion.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Kyoto in 3 hours. Other options are to fly; or drive. In April, daytime highs in Kyoto are 67°F, while nighttime lows are 50°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Thu) so you can take a train to Osaka.
