Kids will appreciate attractions like Universal Studios Japan and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Osaka: Kyoto (Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kinkaku-ji, &more). Traveling by train from Tokyo to Osaka takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In January in Osaka, expect temperatures between 10°C during the day and 1°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Himeji.

On the 20th (Mon), admire the natural beauty at Koko-en, step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Takamikura, and finally contemplate the long history of Yoneda Taishiji Temple.

In January in Hiroshima, expect temperatures between 11°C during the day and 2°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Thu) early enough to travel to Motobu-cho.

Formed by the gradual merging of several old fishing villages, today the island town of Motobu-cho boasts paradisal beaches of white sand, clear waters, and a rich array of wildlife.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Fri): meet the residents at Okichan Theater, then meet the residents at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, then stroll through Okinawa Memorial Park Ocean Expo Park, and finally take in the views from Kouri Ohashi.

You can fly from Hiroshima to Motobu-cho in 7 hours. Other options are to do a combination of train and ferry; or do a combination of car and ferry. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Hiroshima in January: high temperatures in Motobu-cho hover around 22°C and lows are around 13°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
