A spiritual center of Shintoism, Ise stands as a traditional city where visitors can see the roots of Japanese culture in a number of well-preserved natural and historic sites.

Traveling by ferry from Iriomote-jima to Ishigaki takes 1.5 hours. In December, daily temperatures in Ishigaki can reach 26°C, while at night they dip to 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Wed) early enough to catch the flight to Miyakojima.

Miyakojima

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Step off the beaten path and head to Aragusuku Beach and East Henna Cape. Get outdoors at Toguchi no Hama and Scuba & Snorkeling. It doesn't end there: take in the views from Ikema Ohashi Bridge and stroll through Sunayama Beach.
