Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Kinkaku-ji and Senko-ji Temple will appeal to history buffs. Change things up with these side-trips from Osaka: Kyoto (Nijo Castle & Sanjusangendo Temple). Popular historic sites such as Matsumoto Castle and Yohashira Shrine are in your itinerary. Do some cultural sightseeing at Suwa Shrine and Ueda Castle. Step out of Matsumoto to go to Tateyama-machi and see Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which is approximately 1h 55 min away.
