Traveling by train from Tokyo to Hatsukaichi takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In June, daily temperatures in Hatsukaichi can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sun) so you can take a train to Kyoto.

You can take a train from Hatsukaichi to Kyoto in 2.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In June, daytime highs in Kyoto are 32°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Wed) early enough to catch the train to Nara.
