An old castle town largely unspoiled during World War II, Kanazawa features well-preserved architecture spread across a range of districts.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sun): take an in-depth tour of Nishichaya Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Ninja Temple, see the interesting displays at Nishi Chaya Shiryokan Museum, then stop by Amanatto Kawamura, then don't miss a visit to Nishi Tea House Street, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Fudosonkorin Temple. On your second day here, get outside with Kanazawa Minami Sports Park Rose Garden, take in the spiritual surroundings of Daijoji Temple, take in the spiritual surroundings of Tentokuin Temple, then take a stroll through Gokayama, and finally contemplate the long history of Suganuma Gassho Community.

Tokyo to Kanazawa is an approximately 2.5-hour train ride. You can also fly; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 85°F in July, and nighttime lows around 73°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) so you can take a train to Kyoto.

The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
On the 19th (Fri), make a trip to Kameyama Gobo Hontokuji Temple, observe the fascinating underwater world at Himeji City Aquarium, buy something for everyone on your list at Piole Himeji, make a trip to Viewing Deck, Himeji Station Square, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Sunken Garden, Castle Garden, and finally walk around Tegarayama Central Park.

You can take a train from Kyoto to Himeji in an hour. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Kyoto in July, you will find days in Himeji are slightly colder (83°F), and nights are about the same (77°F). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) to allow time to take a train to Hiroshima.

Start off your visit on the 20th (Sat): steep yourself in history at Itsukushima Shrine Torii, steep yourself in history at Itsukushima Shrine, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Miyajima, then enjoy the sand and surf at Mikasahama Beach, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Motoyasu River. You can take a train from Himeji to Hiroshima in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. In July in Hiroshima, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 76°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) so you can travel to Tokyo.
