Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Canal Grande has been added to your itinerary. On the 2nd (Sun), contemplate the long history of Scala Contarini del Bovolo, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza San Marco. On your second day here, visit Campo del Ghetto, make a trip to Dorsoduro, then take in the views from Ponte dei Sospiri, then take in the views from Ponte di Rialto, and finally explore the activities along Canal Grande.
