A picturesque city in the north of the country, Haifa combines history and appearances to create an interesting and relaxing destination.
Escape the urban bustle at Sea of Galilee and Caesarea National Park. Visit The Baha'i Gardens and Mount of Beatitudes for their historical value. Explore Haifa's surroundings by going to Magdala (in Migdal), Nazareth (The Church of the Annunciation & Cana) and Mount Tabor (in Kfar Tavor). There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Church of the Primacy of Peter, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bahai Gardens and Shrine, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Dado Beach.

Get outdoors at Tayelet and Acadia Beach. Get some historical perspective at Western Wall and Temple Mount. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Jerusalem: Sidna Ali Mosque (in Herzliya), Old Tel Aviv Port Area (in Tel Aviv) and Jaffa Old City (in Jaffa). You can take a bus from Haifa to Jerusalem in 2 hours. Another option is to take a train. In September in Jerusalem, expect temperatures between 36°C during the day and 26°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Dimona.

Dimona is an Israeli city in the Negev desert, 36km to the south of Beersheba and 35km west of the Dead Sea above the Arava valley in the Southern District of Israel. Kick off your visit on the 16th (Mon): explore the ancient world of Masada Fortress, then explore the striking landscape of Masada National Park, and then delve into the distant past at Herod's Western Palace. Here are some ideas for day two: take in breathtaking views at Avdat National Park and then stroll through Ein Bokek Beach.
