The capital and largest city of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Port Blair acts as a gateway to the landmasses that lie in the Bay of Bengal.
Get outdoors at Elephant Beach and Chidiya Tapu. Do some cultural sightseeing at Cellular Jail and Cellular Jail. There's lots more to do: step off the mainland to explore Ross Island, enjoy the sand and surf at Corbyn's Cove, stroll through Wandoor Beach, and pause for some photo ops at Rajiv Gandhi's Statue.

Established as the capital of Assam by the British, the hill station of Shillong today serves as the capital of Meghalaya, created in 1972.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Sun): contemplate the waterfront views at Umiam Lake, admire the sheer force of Elephant Falls, and then wander the streets of Police Bazar. Keep things going the next day: play a few rounds at Golf Links, then see the interesting displays at Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of The Grand Madina Masjid.
