Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Budapest is an approximately 18-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train and flight. The time zone changes from Malaysia Time to Central European Time, which is usually a -7 hour difference. Traveling from Kuala Lumpur in August, expect Budapest to be a bit cooler, temps between 32°C and 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Veszprem.

Veszprém is one of the oldest urban areas in Hungary, and a city with county rights. Start off your visit on the 25th (Sun): take in the spiritual surroundings of Szekesfehervar - Our Lady - John of Nepomuk Parish Church, see the interesting displays at Hetedhet Toy museum, and then get to know the resident critters at Veszprem Zoo. On the 26th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Michael's Cathedral, then step into the grandiose world of Bory Castle, then examine the collection at Black Eagle Chemist's Shop, and finally do a tasting at Geszler Family Winery.

Traveling by car from Budapest to Veszprem takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In August, plan for daily highs up to 32°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Balatonfured.
